There's live jazz Thursday through Saturday nights, and the Sunday jazz brunch is one of the most swinging social events in the neighborhood. With the addition of some Louisiana-style dishes (a meaty Cajun crab cake, a sweet shrimp etouffee and a generous jambalaya), the soul food emphasis has become more pan-Southern. Recommended dishes: black-eyed peas and rice, and spicy collard green. The cornbread could be less like a Yankee corn muffin, but the chicken (both baked and "glorifried") is a winner. The ribs are the sweet and sticky kind, and you can always order a mixed bucket (which no longer comes in a bucket) of wings and ribs. Finish with--what else?--pecan pie.
